Fullkrug's First-Half Goal Gives Dortmund Advantage
Im Halbfinal-Hinspiel der Champions League hat sich Borussia Dortmund gegen Paris St Germain mit großer Leidenschaft und ein bisschen Glück durchgesetzt.
Borussia Dortmund took a slender 1-0 lead to Paris in their Champions League semi-final after Niclas Fullkrug's first-half goal gave them a valuable advantage in the first leg. The German side were the better team for much of the match, playing with great passion and intensity, and they deserved to take the lead through Fullkrug's well-taken strike shortly after the half-hour mark.
PSG were once again without their talisman Lionel Messi, who is still recovering from a hamstring injury, and they struggled to create many clear-cut chances in the first half. Dortmund were also without some key players, including Marco Reus and Jude Bellingham, but they defended resolutely and limited PSG to a few long-range efforts.
In the second half, PSG improved slightly and came close to equalizing on a couple of occasions, but Dortmund held on for a vital victory that gives them a slight edge going into the second leg in Paris next week.
